FinTechAlliance.ph board appoints Griselda “Gay” Santos as Executive Director
The FinTech Alliance.ph Board of Trustees approved the nomination of Griselda “Gay” Santos as its Executive Director effective Nov. 3.
Gay worked in the World Bank Group for over 25 years where she held various positions. She worked in Investment and Portfolio Credit Operations, Operational Risks and Advisory Services. With her investment operations experience, she served as the subject matter expert on IFC’s portfolio operations. She authored IFC’s Portfolio Operational Procedures and led major business and systems changes in IFC’s portfolio operations. She championed, designed and conceptualized the current system used by the IFC.
In her last role at the International Finance Corporation, Gay was a Senior Financial Sector Specialist and led the Financial Infrastructure/Inclusion program of the World Bank Group in the Philippines. She led the engagement with the Government and private sector on the Secured Transactions Reform and the passage of Republic Act 11057 – the Personal Property Security Act (a law that seeks to broaden the use of movable assets as collateral for mSMEs) which was passed in August 2018. This is among the fastest moving bill in Philippines’ legislative history.
She holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Johns Hopkins University, a Certificate in Internal Audit from George Mason University and Six Sigma Certificate from George Washington University. She is currently a member of the Financial Executives of the Philippines (FINEX) and a trustee of the Institution for Growth, National Integration, Transformation and Empowerment (IGNITE). IGNITE is a foundation established in memory of the late BSP Governor Espenilla.
