GCash Goes Global Tapping Western Union’s 200 Network of Countries

Cash has partnered with Western Union to expand its global cash-in feature, allowing users in over 200 countries and territories to send money directly to GCash e-wallets in the Philippines.

Through this collaboration, Filipinos living and working overseas can send funds using the Western Union app, website, or its network of retail locations worldwide.

Once the sender completes the transaction, the system instantly credits the funds to the recipient’s GCash account, with a transaction limit of up to PHP 500,000.

The recipient can then immediately use the money for bills, online shopping, savings, or other services within the GCash ecosystem.

The partnership aims to provide a digital-first alternative for remittances.

According to the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, personal remittances from overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) reached a record US$38 billion in 2024, but OFWs still route a significant portion through over-the-counter channels

Paul Albano, General Manager of GCash International, said,
