Billease Rural Bank Arm Receives PHP 500 Million in New Funding

Billease recently injected PHP 500 million in fresh funding into its rural banking subsidiary.

The consumer finance platform allocated the capital to the Rural Bank of Sta Maria, Ilocos Sur.

Executives confirmed an additional PHP 500 million commitment by the end of the year to bring the total capitalisation to over PHP 1 billion.

The strategic investment marks the second phase of the corporate growth strategy to build regulated banking services.

The move actively supports the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas initiative to promote digital-centric rural banks.

Management has already established proper governance committees and modernised core systems ahead of the product launch.

The capital deployment prioritises an end-to-end transformation of the bank infrastructure for scalable digital-first operations.

The funds will also reinforce the capital base and accelerate the introduction of savings and deposit accounts.

The broader platform recently reported an 80% revenue increase to PHP 9.3 billion for the 2025 financial year.

The company also delivered a net profit of PHP 840 million to mark its third consecutive year of profitability.

The total consumer loan portfolio grew by more than 75% year on year to reach approximately PHP 11.9 billion.

Data indicates that the platform successfully onboards more than 100000 new customers every single month.

Bank President and Chief Executive Officer Dennis Valdes stated that the capital upgrade provides a strong foundation for new products.

Valdes explained that the ongoing system upgrades will ensure fast and reliable financial access for millions of Filipinos.

Billease Co Founder and Chief Executive Officer Georg Steiger noted that customers increasingly require services beyond standard credit.

“The bank gives us the foundation to serve them better, with savings, deposits and a fuller set of everyday financial services. We are investing deliberately in governance, systems and processes because a strong foundation is what allows us to scale responsibly. With the initial PHP 500 million complete and the balance committed by year-end, we are fully on track with our roadmap.”
