Vice President – Digital Channels Group Bank of the Philippine Islands ration (FDFC) Frederick “Eric” Faustino is Vice President and Head of Digital Partnerships and Ecosystems. Prior to this, he shepherded the mobile banking channel of BPI. Eric has been with the Bank for more than 25 years, having joined the Bank’s IT Group in 1998. He later moved to the Bank’s then-Emerging Markets Group to head mobile banking. Since 2008, he has been managing mobile banking and payments. Throughout his stint, the Bank’s mobile channel continuously trailblazed the Philippine banking scene – offering SMS banking with both Globe and Smart, and mobile apps for banking and shopping. BPI Mobile Wallet, BPI’s attempt on mobile NFC payments, was launched to the public in 2012. In 2018, with Eric’s initiatives, the bank partnered with Lazada and GCash for seamless payments as the bank forayed into open banking. Today, under his stewardship, BPI has at least 120 open banking partners covering over 16,00 brands and services. Eric is also at the helm of managing and growing BPI’s latest digital offering, VYBE, which is BPI’s very own e-wallet. On the side, Eric is the Banks’ representative in BSP’s Open Finance Transition Group – pushing for the adoption of open finance to usher greater financial inclusion among Filipinos.

Eric received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at De La Salle University in 1993.
