DANIEL BROBY
Professor Academic Program Director, Master of Science in Financial Technology Asian Institute of Management Professor Daniel Broby is a Professor at the Asian Institute of Management and a finance scholar whose work is closely connected to the development of financial technology in the Philippines. His research examines how innovation is reshaping financial markets, regulation, business models, and digital financial infrastructure, with particular relevance for an economy undergoing rapid digitalization and financial sector transformation. Before joining AIM, Professor Broby held the Chair of Financial Technology at Ulster University and served as Director of the Centre for Financial and Regulatory Technology. Alongside his academic career, he has held senior positions in the fund management industry, including Chief Executive Officer, Chief Investment Officer, and Chief Portfolio Manager. This combination of scholarly and industry experience informs his work on fintech, capital markets, policy, and regulation in the Philippine context. His research has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals, and his work spans themes such as blockchain, central bank digital currencies, financial intermediation, benchmarks and indices, and disruptive innovation. At AIM, his contribution is centered on advancing finance and fintech education, research, and policy discussion relevant to the Philippines and the wider ASEAN region.
