Membership.

Membership is open to registered companies operating in the Philippines engaged in digital finance. There are three types of membership: Regular, Associate and Observer.

The Membership Committee shall be setup to accept expressions of interest to join the Alliance and submit its recommendation to the Board of Trustees for approval. Once approved, the applying entity will have to fulfill and comply with the membership requirements set by the Board of Trustees.

Lito is among the few subject matter experts, thought-leaders, and practitioners in inclusive digital finance. He has over 20 solid years of experience in the fields of banking, payments and telecommunications industries. He started the FinTech business in the PLDT Group in 2013 with consumer-centric and demand-driven digital financial innovations. So far, it merited more than 30 global and regional accolades, including being cited as one of Asia's 100 Fintech Leaders, the first and only Filipino included in such list.

He was recently elected founding chairman of the FintechAlliance.ph, a newly organized trade association of digital finance players in the Philippines.

Prior to his current role as managing director of FINTQ (pronounced as FinTech), the financial technology arm of Smart's Voyager Innovations under the PLDT Group, he started his career with the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) as its associate editor, then with LANDBANK as one of the pioneer global banking officers when it established its overseas remittance business. This was followed by his stint at the International Finance Corporation of the World Bank Group as consultant focusing on mobile money transfers in Mongolia. He was then invited by Visa to be the lead in customer strategy and market activation on global mobile payments covering 35 markets in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Eastern Europe. He was elected member of the Asia Board of the Mobile Ecosystem Forum, a global trade body based in London.

With his advocacy on inclusive growth, Lito had encounters with global champions of financial inclusion. Among them include United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, Cherie Blair Foundation founding chair Cherie Blair, UN Secretary General Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development Queen Maxima, and Prof. Muhammad Yunus, the father of microfinance.

He earned two graduate degrees, a Master in Public Administration with magna cum laude honors, and a Master in National Security Administration with the distinction of being its youngest graduate, thus far.

Lito is married to a bank executive Catherine Rowena and blessed with three boys and three girls.

Katrina has over 15 years of experience in operations, finance and management consulting. She is currently the Co-Founder & Chief Commercial Officer of Oriente Finance Group, and General Manager of Oriente Express – a digital finance joint venture with JG Summit.  She was instrumental in building the partnership and initial team of Oriente Express, and implementing the go-to-market strategy.

Prior to Oriente, she was Strategic Pricing Director for Asia Pacific with the Estee Lauder Companies, Inc.  There she led the regional pricing team in developing and executing pricing strategy for 11 brands across 12 markets, and set the direction for China’s pricing strategy.

She was also a Vice President with ING Pomona Capital, where she deployed $150M in capital for investments across Asia Pacific, focusing on China, India and Indonesia.  Prior to that she was with McKinsey & Company and Merrill Lynch.
Katrina is a graduate of B.A. Economics, Psychology from Smith College, Summa Cum Laude. She also completed her MBA from the Harvard Business School.

Mikko was also an investment manager at Next Century Partners, where he managed private equity on behalf of Soros Fund Management, LLC and several institutional investors. He was also an investment banker at JP Morgan Chase (Hambrecht & Quist) in San Francisco where he advised technology, media, and telecom ventures.

Within its first 7 months of launching, they have successfully transacted over 50M PHP worth of receivables with 0% default and 4% repayment delay rate out of over 1000 transactions.

Patrick was formerly an associate at Morgan Stanley in London. He was a graduate of Trinity College Dublin where he was awarded the Gold Medal by the Business School. During his time there, Patrick co-founded both the Trinity SMF, Europe’s first student-led investment fund, and Trinity Economic Forum, a forum at which Patrick introduced the President of Ireland to deliver the inaugural address.

Mitch has over 20 years’ experience in the ICT industry with a background in digital products. He has held various roles in eCommerce, online gaming, media & content domains across multiple industry segments and geographies. Mitch joined Smart Communications in 2010 with a remit to build digital products within the PLDT Group.  In his first 6 months working at Smart, he co-invented the Safe Browse patent that led to multiple international awards.  He was one of the pioneers that led the spin-off of Voyager Innovations in 2013 with its mission to power the digital economy in growth markets with it portfolio of products that span across advertising, eCommerce, payments and financial services.  Mitch’s current role is to lead Product Management for Smart, responsible for delivering world-class products and solutions across the entire PLDT Group and its subsidiaries.

Prior to joining Smart, Mitch was based in Singapore handling Media & Community Products for Yahoo! managing key online properties covering Answers, News, Sports, Finance, Games, & Entertainment for Southeast Asia.  He is an angel investor in a few start-ups and co-founded SeekTheUniq.com with his wife, Mikka.
